“Music unites people and engages the senses.” Sophie, a singer and guitar/keyboard player, has a band called The Sophistocrats which she formed with fellow graduates of the Contemporary Music and Technology Program at Selkirk College. She also has a college degree in Social Work, Bachelors in Anthropology and is fluent in French, Spanish and English. Sophie, whose performance style is best described as genuinely spirited, rekindled her passion for acting and dancing while performing in Nelson’s 2016 production of Rock Of Ages. She sees live performances as entertainment, but also as a way to create connection and transmit culture and knowledge.
